Funny thing, that. We have had so much snow this winter-
but it is usually here and then gone in a day or so.
Sunday morning it started snowing-
I decided to make some bread- toasting bread and bread wraps.
They both turned out good- and the bread wraps made a
great dinner.
The toasting bread has been wonderful this week!
But back to the snow.
It kept coming down- all day and by evening, we had at least 3 or 4 inches.
By Monday morning it was really quite pretty.
And by tomorrow- with 60 degree F temps it will all be gone again, until the next snow.
If you havenโt tried making your own bread wraps yet, I urge you to try.
It helps if it is snowing out, because it is a long process cooking them on the stove top- I made a
dozen wraps Sunday, and only have 2 left.

The more it snows (Tiddely pom),
The more it goes (Tiddely pom),
The more it goes (Tiddely pom)
On snowing.
And nobody knows (Tiddely pom),
How cold my toes (Tiddely pom),
How cold my toes (Tiddely pom),
Are growing.
The bread and wraps look great. The snow looks pretty. This has been a very different winter.
I guess I won’t be making those any time soon considering the climate in which I live! They look amazing just like everything you make!
So beautiful! We don’t get snow here, thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos with us! (Bread looks great too, but I’m distracted by the lovely snow..) ๐
Dear Heidi,
The snow looks so calm, serene and beautiful! Weather has been havoc here and Sydney is inundated with rain and massive floods in some country areas. Your breads are always awesome.
I know you don’t want to hear this, but… I am a teeny bit jealous of your snow as we have had almost none in my city this winter, apart from a small flurry one morning in February and then… it was gone. Sometimes we get late snow here, when the lambs are in the fields, such an erratic country for weather. Toast is looking grand and your deck is so pretty ๐
Actually, Joanna- I just wish this winter was really !
We have had LOTS of snow, but it melts the next day and then we have unseasonally high temps and then snow again. My back yard is a swamp- the rivers are all running very high- and it is ridiculously hard to drive during the white outs. I really like some snow- it is just too unsettling to have summer and winter in the same season!
Oh, I agree! If your readers haven’t tried the wraps yet, they MUST!!! At first I thought I’d have to be making a ton of them to keep these boys filled, but they are so hearty and filling that one recipe at a time is sufficient (at least for the next few years. Once they are teenagers, I’ll probably have to double my efforts!)
Martha- I’ve made these every weekend since I first made them. Jordan doesn’t like sliced bread anymore- so I either make pizza for leftovers for his lunch or the bread wraps for sandwiches.
