Thanks, Sally-
It took a lot of courage- I haven’t made a house for competition in years- and I was unsure of myself.
It takes vision and a steady hand- plus a couple of good batches of gingerbread and royal icing.
And some good candy!
Oh Celia, that is very sweet.
Of course there was doubt. It has been a lot of years, and I’m not a Wilton trained decorator ( or any training-just
experienced.) Thanks for your confidence.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Thanks Chopinand!
We are looking forward to a joyous time together!
This season has been filled with a lot of deadlines and some tension- but we’ve managed to weather them all pretty well. Two days after Christmas my niece is shipping off to Canberra, Australia to be a support to military operations- a liaison to the Australian Navy. So we will be sad to see her go.
Woo Hoo! Yee Hah! Congratulations! You all look so gloriously happy and I am thrilled that you won! All that work… all that thought… all that planning… and all that icing… Wow! π
We DO look happy, don’t we?
The other teams were not so happy- but they did a great job, as well!
It was a buttercream icing used in the competition for Boss- we also had to decorate cookies, ice two cupcakes identically, and ice and fill a four layer cake all within a timed period.
It was a lot of fun- and my team was so talented and cooperative that we enjoyed all of the challenges!
G’day! Thank you for leaving your lovely comments on my blog, true!
Your gingerbread house looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and congrats on the win and the experience too! π
Cheers! Joanne
Woo! I knew you would win! That’s a mighty fine looking house!
Congrats. You certainly have some patience to make this gingerbread house. Now inspired.
Thanks, Sally-

Darling, of course the house won! Was there ever any doubt? π
Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family, Heidi! xxx
